The ancient village of Kynnersley lies on the largest of the islands above the Weald Moors extensive peatlands. At its centre is the medieval parish church of St Chad and the curiously named ‘Whim’ — a triangular area of grass and brick upon which, so folklore dictates, stands a ‘hanging tree’ that once launched local miscreants into eternity!
